Zilker Neighborhood Association

Minutes, executive committee meeting, May 10, 1999, at Robin Cravey's house

Present: Robin Cravey, Kaye Trybus, Fontaine Maverick, Barbara Cossie, Lorraine Atherton

Upcoming meetings:

Robin has set up a meeting on the Racetrac situation for Monday, May 17, 3:30 p.m., with council aides in Slusher's office.

Robin and Fontaine will edit the database Monday, May 17. The planning committee will meet Wednesday, May 19, at 7 p.m. at Lorraine's. The membership committee will meet the next Monday, May 24, at 7:30. The next executive committee meeting will be Monday, June 7. The communications committee will meet Monday, June 14, at 7 p.m. at Fontaine's.

The next general meeting will be Monday, July 26.

Reports:

Minutes of the previous meeting were approved.

Susan Salyer has resigned as social chair.

The association has $420 in the bank and about $420 in receivables.

Robin will arrange a meeting with South River City Neighborhood Association.

Kaye, Jeff, and Robin met with Dave Gerard and Richard Kroger (Public Works) about the Barton Springs Road design. All four U-turns are still in the design, but prospects for the roundabout are not good.

Action:

The executive committee voted to urge the Austin City Council to support the Town Lake Park concept plan approved by the stakeholder group and to maximize the green space within that plan. Lorraine will prepare a letter for Robin's signature.

The executive committee voted to support moving the INS Galindo office's move to the Federal Building. Lorraine will prepare a letter for Robin's signature.

Kaye or Robin will talk to Ramona Trevino and suggest the cemetery on Goodrich as a historical project for Zilker School. We will place a call for volunteers to help clean up and maintain the cemetery grounds in the next newsletter.
